Why send your child to preschool?Preschool will: Allow the child to experience life away from the protection of his family;
get him used to the idea of going to school; help him learn some of the
things that will be expected of him in school - such as how to line up,
recognize his name from others, etc.
Encourage self-identity by giving the child a life of his own. Promote self-reliance. At school the child can begin to operate on his own. Even the best teacher has less time for him and is less directive than are most parents. To some extent the child has to think for himself and find his own way. Allow a child to function where he is developmentally, but at the same time, gently stimulate him toward the next stage of maturity. Help develop a child's language. Provide exposure to books, art materials, and play materials as well as new concepts. Provide a variety of experiences, play situations, and field trips that Give the child a chance to become closely acquainted with a warm, caring, friendly adult other than parents and relatives. Introduce him to the notion of school as an interesting place, but also one where he must conform to group standards. Help the child by helping the mother. It gives her time away from the child by giving her a person who will know and like her child and who will talk over problems and incidents.
